Tono Hetsuri is a series of 31-meter-high strange rocks that have been carved like a tower over tens of thousands of years.
A suspension bridge leads to the tower-shaped cliffs, and visitors can see a part of the interior of the cliffs.
Hetsuri” is the local word for cliff, and the name “Tou-no-Hetsuri” comes from the meaning of the cliffs lined with tower-shaped rocks. Because of its unique shape, it is designated as a national natural monument.
In mid-October, the autumn leaves on the white rock surfaces dye the stream of the Okawa River, and visitors can enjoy viewing the autumn leaves as they walk through the deeply gouged rock arches.
