Goshikinuma (Five Color Swamp)

Mysterious group of lakes and swamps that change color every time you see them

Located on the north side of Mt. Bandai, Goshiki-numa is a group of about 30 small lakes and swamps of various sizes that show various colors such as green, red, and blue.

Bandai erupted, a debris avalanche choked the rivers and formed hundreds of lakes and marshes.

The lakes are known for the color of their water, which changes depending on the quality of the volcanic water and the plants and algae that flow into the lakes.

There are well-maintained walking trails where you can explore the varied trekking trails, such as the cobalt blue Ruri-numa, Bishamon-numa with a great view of Bandai-san, and Benten-numa with beautiful patterns created by underwater plants.
