The Koriyama area offers tourist attractions such as Lake Inawashiro, Mt. Adatara, and Suwa Shrine; sightseeing events such as the Cherry Blossom Festival, Koriyama Uneme Festival, and Sukagawa City Shakado River National Fireworks Festival; and local delicacies such as lemon, ika carrot, and thin skin buns.

The Koriyama area is dotted with numerous tourist attractions. One of the characteristics of the area is that it is home to a wide range of facilities, from scenic spots that retain a rich natural environment to modern facilities.

As one of the largest cities in the prefecture, Koriyama also has an abundance of city-run facilities built. Representative examples include the Koriyama Municipal Museum of Art, which offers many attractions for a reasonable admission fee, and the Koriyama Fureai Science Museum Space Park, which offers free admission.

Koriyama Culture Park, operated by a public interest incorporated foundation, is also popular. The facility includes Dreamland Amusement Park with attractions for both adults and children, a large swimming pool with water slides, and a culture center with a gymnasium and conference rooms.

The Abukuma Kogen area, located southeast of Koriyama City, offers a variety of sightseeing spots centering on the Abukuma Kogen Road, an automobile-only road that runs between the Tohoku Expressway and the Banetsu Expressway.

Fukushima Airport, which is the gateway to the sky, Mushitek World, which was built as the theme pavilion for the Utsukushima Mirai Expo, and Iwase Ranch, where tasteful buildings have remained since the Meiji era, are particularly popular tourist spots.

The nationally famous Miharu Waterfall Cherry Blossoms are also located in this area, and many people from inside and outside of the prefecture visit during the blooming season to see the magnificent weeping cherry trees, which are said to be over 1,000 years old.

To the east of the Ban-Etsu Expressway, visitors can enjoy facilities that preserve nature, such as Abukuma-do Cave and Irimizu Cave, which were created by nature over a period of 80 million years, the Hoshi-no-Mura Observatory, where visitors can see and experience the mysteries of space, and Kodomonokuni Mushimushi-land, which has an exhibition and observation garden for rhinoceros and stag beetles.

Near the Ono IC, there is also the Rica-chan Castle, which manufactures and displays Rica-chan dolls popular mainly among girls.

The Koriyama area has more sightseeing spots than you can visit in a day, and it is an attractive area with various aspects, such as having fun and enjoying the grandeur of nature.
